How Do They Sleep At Night

How does Big Food and the Medical Industry sleep at night? They both promote harmful diabetes food advice that causes more pain and suffering.

  • Big Food and the Medical Industry promote high carb foods to diabetics.
  • Diabetes 101 – Carbohydrates elevate blood sugars and elevated blood sugars are toxic to every cell in the body.

Type 2 diabetics must either treat elevated blood sugars with drugs and/or insulin, or allow the elevated blood sugars to remain at toxic levels for hours and some times days. There is a better way to self-treat diabetes.

Big Food and the Medical Industry know that carbs spike blood sugars, yet they promote high carb and harmful foods anyway.  Even to those that need it the least, diabetics.

Sugary Cereal is Diabetic Friendly?

Kellogg’s wants diabetics to believe their sugary ‘junk’ cereals are ‘diabetes friendly’.  So much so they devoted a  page promoting their cereals as ‘diabetes friendly’.

http://www.kelloggs.com/en_US/healthy-investments/health-essentials/diabetes-friendly-foods.html

It’s shameful and harmful diabetes advice.

Make no mistake, the cereals in the picture above are ‘junk’ and high carb junk foods at that. All of them will spike your blood sugars to very harmfully high levels.

How can companies portray their foods as ‘diabetes friendly‘ … when the foods they promote are some of the ABSOLUTE WORST foods… a diabetic can eat?  (Some of the worst foods anyone should eat)

Nutritional Panel of Junk

First, did you know that a medical industry study shows that 90% of diabetics … FAIL!

Meanwhile medical industry revenues are growing every year… hmmm.  The Medical Industry is #Winning.

Second, let’s look at one of the nutritional panels of a food pictured above, Raisin Bran.

This is the typical ‘low fat, high carb, grain based food’ that is being pushed on diabetics … every damn day.  Hell, it’s being pushed on PEOPLE every damn day.

46 grams of carbohydrates for just the cereal alone!  18 grams of sugar!!   Are you kidding me?

Add to that a full cup of milk which is around 11 more grams of carbohydrates, that equals about 57 grams of carbs in a single serving for a single serving!

Note:

  • 57 grams of carbs in ONE serving, is more carbs than I typically eat in 3-4 days, I’m sure I’ve had weeks that were lower than 57 grams of carbs.
  • I don’t know many adults who could eat just one serving of this and walk away sated, but let’s assume so. Even if they did, they would be starving in a couple of hours but that’s ok…
  • Because Big Food and the Medical Industry suggest diabetics eat 4 – 6 smaller meals a day.

If you are a Medical Industry professional (doctor, nutritionist, dietitian or diabetes educator)… given that you know diabetes is a disease of elevated blood sugars, how you promote cereals as diabetic friendly and sleep at night?

How Do They Sleep At Night

The picture below, clipped from the Kellogg’s ‘Diabetes Friendly’ webpage shows why Kellogg’s cereal can be called ‘diabetes friendly’.

In other words…

The American Diabetes Association (and the American Dietetics Association) give Kellogg’s  the free pass to call this ‘junk’ … diabetes friendly.  And the ADA also gives the medical industry a free pass to promote their ‘high carb’ meal plans as ‘diabetes friendly’.

45-75 grams of carbs per day plus 15-30 grams of carbs per snack = 165 to 285 grams of carbs per day.

For reference, I weaned off of all drugs and insulin … but I only eat 10-15 grams of carbs most days.

American Diabetes Association

The group responsible for protecting diabetics … gives companies and the medical industry ‘cover’ while they pimp their drug and insulin inducing foods on ignorant diabetics who trust the ‘experts’.

These same food, drug and medical industry companies donate 10’s of millions of dollars to the American Diabetes Association.  Coincidence?  Are you supremely naive?

Conflict of Interest

Below is a picture on this Kellogg’s page, it disgusts me.

Note the website address, http://www.kelloggs.com/en_US/healthy-investments/health-essentials/diabetes-friendly-foods.html, the diabetes advice has since been removed. I hope this blog post has something to do with the removal.  Luckily I have this screenshot showing Kellogg’s claims to be diabetic friendly.

Kellogg’s, with one winner for the “Diabetic Living What to Eat” award…

If British Petroleum was a major contributor to Green Peace, and Green Peace came out promoting deep ocean oil drilling… would you still claim it’s unrelated?

If  Jack Daniels was a large contributor to Alcoholics Anonymous and AA promoted drinking “Jack Black” in moderation… would you still think the two were unrelated?

I don’t think so.

Yet, people do not question Big Pharma and Big Food’s contributions… and no one wonders why the American Diabetes Assocation promotes a high carb, grain based meal plan… to diabetics.

Reduce Your Blood Sugar the Warrior Way

Below is my personal ‘diabetes care’ manual. It is truly diabetes friendly, not Big Food, Big Pharma and Medical Industry friendly.  Every person who follows my plan improves blood sugar control.  Not coincidentally, each person who follows my diabetes care plan reduces the profits of Big Food, Big Pharma and the Medical Industry.

  1. Is there a documentary film on the ADA? If not, it sounds like there needs to be! The foods are killing us so we need the drugs to stay alive.

  2. Great article! Bravo for telling it like it is and not sugar coating anything. (sorry) You are saving lives with this information, thank you for this. “Speak the truth even if your voice shakes.”

Re: “Thanks to my friend Greg Lechner for sharing this link from Kellogg’s… and their disgustingly high carb, drug inducing foods”:

I clicked on the link and it is dead!

Have you already embarrassed it out of existence (or at least gotten it to run, hide, and move)?

The bunch of clickable-looking links I found at

    http://module.kelloggs.com/nutrition/live-healthy/diabetes-friendly.html

    – including these:
    BLAST OF WITH BREAKFAST
    THE BENEFITS OF BREAKFAST
    IS YOUR BREAKFAST NUTRITIOUS?
CEREAL: A GREAT PART OF BREAKFAST

    – all provided only this message:

“We’re sorry, the server could not process your request or the page you have requested has been changed or moved. Please try the Kellogg’s Home Page for more information about the Kellogg Company, Products, Brands and Promotions
    Error 404: File Not Found”

If I had a license that gave me freedom of speech to legally say words like “food” and “eating,” I’d say: The list of brands on the Kellogg’s Home Page, http://www.kelloggs.com/en_US/home.html, looks like a handy list of nonfoods that diabetics (or others who value fresh, real food) should never eat. However, since I don’t have a freedom of speech license, I wouldn’t dream of saying that.

    1. Thank you for the comment. :)

Embarrassed out of existence??? … don’t I wish! :) … I just checked it and it’s still up, it is a slow loading page.

LOL! …and please don’t say what diabetics should and shouldn’t eat .. the Purveyors of Pain… might not like it. :)

  4. At 32 years of age I was told that with a HBA 1C of 10.8 And having on,y once had a 7.9 which is what is in australia considered a safe range that the likelihood that I would ever be able to carry a child my husband and i knew that the diagnosis for my life was much worse and that something had to change. Marks daily apple has been the light in our life. Look no great overnight miracle for me I am assuming that perhaps there is a little truth that I could bbe insulin resistant but since removing the ‘staples’ such as bread, rice, pasta, sugar loaded fruit, and all other sugar loaded over processes grains I am making in roads with my last HBBa1C being 8.9! After all these years of food and body abuse requiring far too much insulin every dayi am extremely lucky to have no severe long term damage identified to date, but every day with my diet and my new training am hopeful that one day parenthood will be mine. We need to spread the word it doesn’t take a genius to understand that carbohydrates means insulin!! I am aa lucky one my endocronologist doesn’t ever doubt the logic in my diet for him if it works he is happy. I am a mystery to him.

    1. All the best to you and thanks for commenting. A friend of mine Allison has a blog, she’s a type 1 diabetic. She had her first VBAC last year… I urge you to contact her. allisonprimalpregnancy.blogspot.com

  5. great to see somebody stand up and fight against the decietfull american goverment that profits from evil agendas. Im another one who fights for the truth. Keep exposing how to reverse diabetes. People need to wake up and get out of denile. Eat a plant based diet not chemicals. I send love and good vibes out to everybody who cares. Peace

    1. Dave, Thanks… I follow a meat (fat) based diet. I know of no one who has done what I have done on a plant based diet. I was drug and insulin dependent (4 insulin shots per day) and I am not totally drug and insulin free…with normal blood sugar for non-diabetics. Feel free to contact me if you know of someone and I’ll be glad to publicize their story.

Sending good vibes back atcha. :)

Good on you Steve for standing up. I applaud you. I guess that you have probably read Dr Steven Gundry’s book, Diet Evolution which imparts similar information to yours. Helen Wenley

  7. Thank to Steve for keeping after the ADA on their insane program. Since I started a Paleo Diet back in March of this year, I have dropped 30lbs and my most recent A1c was 5.5. My doc was stunned! I am getting her a copy of the Paleo Diet book by Loren Cordian. Keep up the great work, you are much appreciated!
