Amy Campbell and Joslin … Paid to provide pain.

What year is this,  1970?  What… it’s 2014?amy-campbell

40 plus years after the failed low fat, high carb campaign and we still have harmful advice coming from a so called ‘diabetes educators’ promoting a high carb, grain based meal plan.

40 plus years of miserable failure in not only not preventing diabetes … but in treating diabetes.

Amy Campbell is associated with Joslins Diabetes Center, a known high carb, grain and drug pimp.  I’ve written about Joslin a couple of times and mentioned them many more. Here are two posts specific to Joslin, “Joslin Harming Diabetics” and “ADA Minion Myths“.

Imagine being paid to harm people and to do it knowingly.

New Diabetes Wall of Shame Inductee

I do not add people or groups to this wall often.  I literally could find someone to nominate every day if I chose to do so.

Today’s candidate is particularly worthy… her advice is THAT BAD!!!   it’s horrible…

=======

Mrs. Campbell wrote this article, “Stay Healthy With Diabetes”. No need to waste your time reading the article .. it raises my blood sugar to read it.

Here is some of her harmful, painful advice… that she is well compensated for.

For some, this so-called diet consists of avoiding sugar, while others believe it to be a strict way of eating that controls glucose. Unfortunately, neither are quite right.

The “diabetes diet” is not something that people with type 1 or type 2 diabetes should be following. “That just simply isn’t how meal planning works today for patients with diabetes,” says Amy Campbell, MS, RD, LDN, CDE, a nutritionist at Joslin.

When I read this… my blood boiled.

This woman ( I will not call her a lady) knows that carbohydrates raise blood sugars.  Eating high carb foods makes it impossible to maintain normal blood sugars.

Next comes the advice that has killed millions of diabetics… no set of words raises my anger as much as this set.

“The important message is that with proper education and within the context of healthy eating, a person with diabetes can eat anything a person without diabetes eats,”

“There aren’t any foods that are ‘off-limits,'”

This is the same pathetic advice Hope Washaw provides. .. another highly paid drug and grain pimp.

Of course diabetics MUST eat differently than non-diabetics!!

Non-diabetics have a functioning pancreas and don’t have significant insulin resistance!   UGH!!!

Why would anyone promote such harmful advice? … the next quote says it all.

This means that a person who has worked with a dietitian and a diabetes treatment team to figure out how many grams of carbohydrate they can eat throughout the day can decide at any given meal what they will eat.

I want to curse so badly right now…

THIS IS WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT!  … eating a high carb meal plan increases the need and reliance on … <drum roll> .. the medical industry!

Why in the HELL would you eat in such a way that increases your reliance on drugs, insulin and medical services???

I NEED NO ONE to tell me what to eat … AND I THRIVE!!!

I NEED NO dietitian …. and I THRIVE!!!

I NEED NO ‘diabetes treatment team’ … and I THRIVE!

Here is how I eat – My Meal Plan.

Only if you eat ‘their’ low fat, high carb grain based “JUNK” food … would you need a ‘team’.

Amy Campbell is promoting the medical industry line.

Please don’t listen to the grain and sugar pimps…

Please do not listen to those whose advice causes you more drugs and insulin.

THERE IS A BETTER WAY!

Closing

Amy Campbell and Joslin are paid to provide harmful advice to diabetics… the same advice that harms millions.

We must do all we can to discourage this…  I will step up my efforts to expose the ‘purveyors of pain’.

… I want to confront, argue, discuss or debate Amy Campbell on this article. If you know how I can reach her let me know. All I have is a LinkedIn Account.

Note: Thanks to Gary Snow for posting this article.
