My husband who has been an enthusiastic follower of this blog hit the roof when he saw that the "experts" were trying to shut it down. He posted on FB and I followed suit reading up on what had happened. There are a couple of things in this that really irritated me.

They were very concerned about somebody "uncertified" giving advice but they apparently didn't even bother to address the quality of the advice. They had no interest at all in knowing if people were getting well or if they could improve their own information. Years ago, I ended up going to one of the finest leading doctors on the East Coast due to a car accident. In the process, I had an ultra bad reaction to the pain medication and went to one of the very first acupuncture clinics in the country instead. When I went back to him, I told him what I had done. A normal doctor would have dismissed it as psychosomatic etc or talk about it not being in accordance with standard medical practice. BUT his reaction was curiosity and questions. He ended up working on pain management with the acupuncture clinic to help some of his other patients. He was an example of excellence.

Most "certified" nutritionists have memorized information in undergraduate college. They are not required to take the same classes as future doctors and nurses. They have not had any actual medical training. As assistants to medical experts, I have no problem with that. However, the idea that they have the expertise or background to do more than regurgitate what they have been taught seems unlikely in most cases.
