thank you for the info. At first, I thought maybe it was the Armour thyroid meds. so i went off those over the weekend, but nothing changed. Then, I decided to quit my progesterone cream & drops - the hot flashes lessened but still there. I have also dropped my carbs down to less than 20 - seems to be helping... I will continue to keep the carbs below 20 and see if that solves the problem.
I bet you will see a GRADUAL decrease in hot flashes eating carbs under 30 ... just be patient!! I was prescribed HRT ... had to stop due to all the side effects.
Hot flashes are gone! :) My blood sugars dropped down into the mid 90s at morning fasting and today I had a 77 at noontime! no low blood sugar symptoms either. doing the happy dance...
Hi! I'm new here but wanted to share my experience... Before I was diagnosed with diabetes I had horrible hot flashes. Just terrible. Then we found out that I was type 2 and I went on Metformin/Glyburide to control my blood sugar and the hot flashes decreased enormously. When my blood sugar rises I have hot flashes--it's usually my first clue that all is not as it should be. So in my experience yes, definitely high blood sugar causes hot flashes for me!
