This article hit the news wires Friday… no real new news… but there was nuggets of information that need to be mentioned.
“More than half a billion people, or one in 10 adults worldwide, are obese — more than double the number in 1980 — as the obesity epidemic spills over from wealthy into poorer nations, researchers said on Thursday.”
Ten percent of the world is OBESE … not slightly overweight… but OBESE!
That number is bad enough but this one shocked me. That equates to MORE THAN 1/2 a BILLION people!!
This is very depressing and this was just the “headline”… but I kept reading.
“And while rich nations made big strides in cutting rates of high cholesterol and hypertension… “
… hmmmm and then I read this ….
“Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of people in the industrialized world, and billions of dollars are spent every year on medical devices and drugs to treat it. “
…. WILL SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME … how cholesterol is DECREASING … and YET obesity and diabetes is at EPIDEMIC PROPORTIONS????
Do you not see what this means??? IF cholesterol levels are decreasing and obesity and diabetes (and heart disease) are INCREASING …
… this is further evidence… its NOT the cholesterol that is KILLING US.
Therefore … it’s NOT THE ANIMAL FATS that are KILLING US!!!
IF SATURATED FATS and cholesterol was the REAL PROBLEM … if cholesterol was decreasing, so WOULD diabetes and obesity!! … but it’s not.
Why? We have been ‘fed’ a lie….
It’s the high carbs meal plans that are killing us. It is the ENTIRE BASE of the American Diabetes Association’s MEAL PLAN… which is essentially the same as the FDA, NIH’s meal plan.
ALL PUSH GRAINS and high carbs which leads to more drugs and grain sales. This keeps Monsanto, Pepsico and BigPharma happy and the donations rolling in to American Diabetes Association and the American Ass. of Diabetes Educators. :(
WAKE UP PEOPLE… before it’s too late for you.
