My Primal Update, with Vids and Pics 10/15/11

Wearing a Size Small T-shirt... never thought that would happen. Click to Enlarge

The picture to the right was taken yesterday fasted and right before my workout.  It’s about 11:00 Am and other than Heavy Cream and Coconut Oil I had not eaten since the prior day.

I love fasted workouts, I seem to do my best in a ‘fasted state’.

By the way, I am wearing a cotton T-shirt … size small. :)

For those who read my blog regularly… you may remember that I said I would not post ‘topless’ pictures again until I had a six pack… well… that’s why I am not posting topless pictures.

Note:  My weight is unchanged, it’s been in the  168-173 lbs for MONTHS.  Still no ‘six pack’ … but the main number I watch is my blood sugar and I was bragging about a Overnight Fasting Blood Sugar of 80 mg/dl yesterday too. :)

On to the eXercise!

Yesterday was a very busy day.  This post would be too long if I put all the videos and food pictures etc, so I will break it up in to two posts.

In the morning I went to the high school as I often do on weekends.  My plan was to workout at the high school then go visit my father and his wife in Mt. Airy, NC for the Annual Autumn Leaves Festival.

One of my favorite workouts these days is the combination of 120 tire flips, 120 yards of sled pushing and 120 yards of bear crawling.  If you do not know what these are… no worries, short 10 second videos are below.

My goal is to complete the entire workout (all three exercises) in a new record time each time I perform it… so far I have been able to do so.  My last previous best was 30:09 … that’s 30 minutes and 9 seconds.   Just so you know, that is 30 minutes of non-stop exercise and all is anaerobic. (without oxygen)  Anaerobic just means that I am out of breath the entire  time, I never  ‘catch my breath’.

For the record, I completed the exercise in a Personal Record of 28:18 or twenty eight minutes and eighteen seconds. :)

My goal is to perform a personal best each time… but this day I had specifically wanted to break 30 minute barrier.

Below are three videos of each exercise that I performed.

Tire Flips

Sled Push

Note: You can see Ollie chained up in the video…he’s just chilling. :)

Bear Crawls

Note: By the time I finished with the tire flips I was tired. By the time I started the bear crawls… I was near exhaustion… can you tell? :)

Summary:

This is an very intense exercise … at least for me.  There is NO way I could have done this  2 1/2 years ago when I was diagnosed with diabetes. I was an obese, sedentary person…  it was all I could do to walk a 1/4 to the end of the street and back.

I did not get ‘here’  overnight… but it is doable for almost everyone, I believe that.

Simply start today walking and / or performing these primal exercises, “click here” and do a little more each day. :)

Before long… you will be jogging, running and performing more and more weight resistance.

Each day… DO YOUR BEST!!! … and forget the rest. :)

Start THRIVING… and not just surviving!

And remember …. IF I CAN DO IT… SO CAN YOU!!!
